Boyd L. Austin, Jr. is a lifelong resident of Paulding County, and a 7th-generation Georgian. He graduated from Paulding County High School in 1980, and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia in 1984. Professionally, Boyd is the property manager of Homeplace Communities Management, Inc., which manages independent senior communities in Paulding County. Boyd served as Mayor of Dallas, Georgia from 1996 to 2020.
In January, after much prayer and the encouragement of many of his friends in the community, Boyd made the decision to run for State Senate District 31, representing Haralson and Polk Counties, and most of Paulding County. He is running because the State Senate needs someone who understands local issues, has served at the local level, and who will be a tireless advocate for limited government, as the Founding Fathers and generations of conservative leaders have been. His leadership on local issues has earned him the honor of four invitations to the White House from the Trump Administration to discuss policy initiatives on infrastructure and reducing burdensome government regulations.
Our district needs a principled conservative and tireless fighter to protect our Constitutional rights, keep our taxes low, and bring 21st century solutions to the problems we face in the 31st District. Boyd’s tenure as Mayor of Dallas showcases his leadership abilities. The City is in strong financial shape, with plans that allow for continued growth that will allow the next generation to prosper by providing strong education and workforce opportunities. Dallas is one of the safest cities in the state because of his commitment to law enforcement and our first responders. Boyd is committed to protecting life, and defending those who are most vulnerable in our communities.
Boyd recognizes that no city or county can have success on its own in the 21st century and he is going to fight in the State Senate for everyone. When you have an issue, Boyd is going to work to solve it. And when Stacey Abrams and the Democrats challenge our conservative values, Boyd will stop them. The Primary Election is June 9, 2020 and Boyd hopes he can earn your vote!
